AYLESFORD V 29 ANCHORIANS III 5

Anch’s welcomed new boy Andy Wilson in to the center on their visit to Aylesford with Chris "chuckles" white again standing in at scrum half.  Changes in the pack led to Steve gabbel and Ernie "Freddie" Laing being lifted in the line out and center Justin Phipps helping out in the back row. Aylesford took the game to Anchs and caught anchs knapping with a good move that led to their loose head prop dodging through to score an early try. anchs dug in and their forwards got several good drives on only for the ball to be unexpectedly turned over due to poor communication and two further try's were scored. Anchs didn't give up and got themselves a penalty under the Aylesford posts only for it to be narrowly missed by Rod "Chopper"Dyason who send the ball whizzing past the post. anchs started to get some ball and continued to press when just before the half was up a sloppy turnover led to another try being scored half time 24 nil.

Anchs started the second half strongly with a couple of quick tap penalties from the skipper getting the game very physical and suddenly anchs wanted it and began gnashing their teeth. a succession of penalties and scrums slowly moved anchs up the pitch and they were gaining plenty of ball. the line out was not going to plan and martin "barn Door" Smith was having an off day with the throwing so all penalties were then run sucking in the Aylesford forwards and quick phase ball led to good brakes from the likes of Wilson and Wright.

Then the opening occurred skipper took a quick tap ten meters out and got good quick second phase ball to chuckles who found prop Joe granger minxing out on the left and he burst through to score a try. At last we had crossed the line. Aylesford not to be outdone attacked down the wing and ran in a try of their own 5-5 for the half. The remainder of the game was played in the Aylesford end of the pitch but no more points were scored by either team.

verdict  A great team performance in the second half everyone wanted it keep it up!!
